Databricks Catalog Explorer uses a three-level hierarchical namespace to organize objects
- Catalog
- first or top-level container
- Schema
- second level, sitting inside a catalog
- Object
- third level, inside a schema
- tables, views, volumes, functions, and models
Snowflake also uses a three-level namespace in this order: Database → Schema → Object
